Time is running out

So yesterday was crazy. After practice I had to make a ton of chocolate covered strawberries and then go to a Valentine's Day party.

So here's the day #13 post:

This next commercial is one of my all time favorites. AT&T just did a really great job portraying the storyline, with the filming, and relating it to their slogan ("more bars in more areas"). It's a very successful commercial and absolutely adorable. So without further ado AT&T's "Backpacker."

  1. I absolutely love this! I think its catchy, humorous, and it definitely put a smile on my face because it's kind of cheesy! Then again, I'm a sucker for sweet stuff =).

  2. I think this should have been a stand alone ad without a promotion at the end. The promotion takes away from the ad. The ad talks of young love yet, we have a promotion about mother's day... And I don't know about most people but I don't like thinking about my lover and my mother in the same sentence. This deserves to be a standalone adding another image from abroad.

How about we take similar concepts and do them for a mother's day promotion. Say a mother seeing her son off and the son surprises the mother, followed by the promotion at the end that acts as our call to action.

OR maybe we have a father going off on some sort of business trip abroad (maybe he's a backpack journalist) and he's sending pics to his wife and the final pic is captured in a similar way to this backpacker ad. And then we see a mother's day promotion.

I loved this ad, but I really would have liked one more picture from abroad or a little more story before the conclusion. And ugh... the promotion just was a big time buzz kill for me, it annoys me. Not my preferred execution.

  4. I don't think the ad was always attached to a promotion. I believe that after the ad aired for a while AT&T attached the promotion.

I think you have a lot of good ideas, no wonder you're an ad major. They probably thought they had a successful commercial already and didn't feel like spending the money on creating another one, especially for just one holiday.

  5. I love this commercial by AT&T too! It's so cute and romantic!

P.S. I love the added humor with your graphics at the end of each post.
