HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!
Finally, we come to the final, and best, commercial about love. Yep, it's a diamond commercial. I first saw this commercial at a movie theater; it was one of the preview before some chick flick. Everyone "awwww"ed at the end, that's how cute this commercial is. Zales just got it right when they made "Love Rocks: The String."
I hope you all have a wonderful, happy, love-filled Valentine's Day!

I like how your blogs include different forms of media so it's not just one bland paragraph, but a mixture of words, pictures and video.
ReplyDeleteHmm... Definitely love the execution for this ad. Highly creative proposal idea. I will say this though, while both the execution and the acting were flawless, I just don't like the tagline, "Love Rocks." It just didn't fit the atmosphere of the ad. It doesn't do it for me. The ad is a bit cheerful but still a little mellow. The word "rock" just seems to upbeat for this ad. It just seems like a company that's been around since 1924 would have found a better tagline/slogan by now. It's bearable, but certainly not the copy that I want concluding the ad. It seemed forced, why not change that line There's what something that has a more similar atmosphere.
ReplyDeleteI thought that this was a great post with the use of video. I also thought about using video in my blogs also but found nothing that I could use to date. Maybe in the future I can.
ReplyDeleteThank you guys. Yeah, I agree that the tagline doesn't quite fit with the campaign. They were trying to play off of how a diamond is commonly referred to as a "rock" and make their commercials more relevant to younger couples, but their message didn't come across.
